Shore Drive is a very famous as well as a very infamous Road in Virginia Beach. It stretches from Ocean view in Norfolk all the way to the Oceanfront where it changes names to Pacific Ave.
Shore Drive has many amenities to enjoy including many restaurants and raw bars with all types of cuisine especially local seafood. You will also find lodging, condos and the Sea Shore State Park for camping, biking, beach fun, hiking trails and more. There is a public Boat Ramp located at the foot of the Lesner Bridge for launching and beach access for fishing, crabbing and more.

This week as early in the week as it was we were lucky enough to catch up with Paul and Norma of Almost Famous Band. Almost Famous Band has played on and around Shore Drive and in Chicks Beach for years, possible a decade or so.
When asked about the cancelled show at Alexander’s on the Bay for the July 4th Deck Party, Paul says they didn’t know about the change in plans themselves until a couple days before the fourth.
So we’ll see how Alexander’s handles entertainment for the Labor Day Deck Party or if they plan on celebrating at all.
In any case Sunday and Mondays are Paul and Norma’s days off during the week so taking advantage of the slow Monday we joined them for our “Favorite Beverage” and dinner at Surf Rider.
The bar tender and staff were quick to deliver orders and keep glasses and bottles filled during the day and into the evening sunset.
The Surf Rider at Marina Shores is a great place for a “Favorite Beverage” and a great meal. You can drive or boat there.
